The New York Jets' quiet trade period did not come by choice.
Following Tuesday's deadline, the New York Post reported that the Jets were in pursuit of Tampa Bay's Mike Evans and Las Vegas' Davante Adams. However, general manager Joe Douglas' efforts to add firepower in the wide receiver position came to no avail.
Neither the Buccaneers or the Raiders were willing to engage with the Jets. As a result, New York's roster remained as is with zero transactions.
'There need to be buyers, there need to be sellers,' Douglas said shortly after the deadline. 'We made a lot of inquiries and had a lot of discussions about a lot of different positions but ultimately didn't get any other deals done. That's where we are.'
