Footy legend Brendan Fevola has confirmed he is making a shock sporting return - as a MMA cage fighter.

The ex-Carlton and Brisbane forward, 42, has agreed to step into the ring for Hex Fight Series, an Australian mixed martial arts showcase.

The two-time AFL Coleman Medal winner will go head-to-head with a complete stranger in a MMA bout, as part of Hex Fight Series 28 at Melbourne's Festival Hall on November 18.

The footy hero, who was a controversy magnet during his footy career, knows he may have bitten off more than he can chew.
