Newcastle were left heartbroken as they left the Parc des Princes with a point despite being on the verge of a famous victory - as Kylian Mbappe netted a controversial penalty in stoppage time.

The Magpies got the point they needed to stay in the Champions League but will feel hard done by after Tino Livramento was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area, despite it bouncing up off his chest.

Alexander Isak had opened the scoring for the injury-hit Premier League side and the team looked to be holding on valiantly against a star-studded PSG outfit before the late controversy.

The result means Newcastle are now two points off second-placed PSG in Group F as they bid to make the knockout stages of the competition - but they must win their final match against Milan to have any chance.

Mail Sport's Craig Hope was on hand to point out some things you might have missed from an eventful encounter in the French capital.

Finally, Alan Pardew walked through before taking his place in the radio gantry. And there we have our holder.
