South Sydney are allowing some of their biggest stars to visit Disneyland ahead of next week's huge season opener in Las Vegas - but only if they promise to use a mobility scooter.

Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook took some leave on Thursday from the team's camp in San Diego to visit Disneyland with his family.

However, the club estimate he would cover around 20,000 steps if he took in the famous amusement park on foot and they don't want that workload to impact his performance in the first game of the season.

Cook has agreed to hire a scooter - also known as an electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) - when he arrives to save the strain on his body.

'Cooky has just come back from a bit of a soft-tissue injury, so it's important for him in particular,' Bunnies high-performance manager Andrew Croll told the The Sydney Morning Herald.
