The Bengals have become the final team in the NFL to move on from slit film turf - but have replaced it with a playing surface that has also been strongly criticized by players.

The team will install FieldTurf CORE ahead of the 2024 season, which is the same surfaced used at MetLife Stadium that was branded 'trash' and garbage last season.

While MetLife, the home of the Giants and Jets, ditched slit film for FieldTurf before last season, there were still complaints.

Jets receiver Garrett Wilson called the surface 'garbage' after suffering a non-contact leg injury vs. the Eagles, while Miami safety Jevon Holland called it 'trash' after teammate Jaelan Phillips suffered a season-ending Achilles injury.

Of course, Aaron Rodgers also tore his Achilles just minutes into his Jets debut, with his foot appearing to get caught in the turf.
