Mason Greenwood has 'no great desire' to return to Manchester United, according to reports.

The England striker was suspended in January 2022 after he was arrested on suspicion of raping and assaulting a woman. 

Greenwood was subsequently charged with a number of offences which were then dropped and. in September, was sent to Spanish side Getafe on loan until the end of the season 

It had been understood that Greenwood would not play for United again, until Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently confirmed that 'a fresh decision' would be made on the matter.

However, despite the new United co-owner seemingly opening the door for a potential return for Greenwood, reports claim that the forward is 'reluctant' to return.

According to The Athletic, Greenwood has heard Ratcliffe's claims but remains 'reluctant to accept a return' and feels the club 'could have supported him better' over his case.

The outlet go on to claim that the 22-year-old 'has no great desire' to play for Man United again and recognises the scrutiny he could receive if he returned. 

Greenwood returned to Manchester for Christmas at the end of 2023 but it's understood that the forward prefers life in Spain, where he's out of the spotlight.

The only incident of note since arriving in LaLiga, regarding Greenwood, was the recent involvement with Real Madrid star Bellingham.
