Tennis legend Maria Sharapova looked unrecognisable as she rocked up to Paris Fashion Week in a stylish all-black outfit on Sunday.

The former Wimbledon champion rocketed to fame when she beat top seed and defending champion Serena Williams on Centre Court to claim her first Grand Slam at the age of just 17 in 2004.

Sharapova triumphed at four more Grand Slam events ahead of her retirement in 2020 and has since focused largely on business and fashion interests.

Attending Paris Fashion Week for a Valentino event, the 36-year-old stunned the French capital with her elegant look, ditching the trademark blonde locks she famously donned as a player.

During her storied time on court, Sharapova become the first Russian player to complete the career Grand Slam after wins in Melbourne, New York, Paris and London and the third-youngest woman to triumph at Wimbledon.
