Five-time Olympic champion Laura Kenny only has a 'slim chance' of competing at this summer's Games in Paris, according to British Cycling performance director Stephen Park.

The 31-year-old announced last year that she wanted to compete at her fourth Olympics despite only giving birth to her second son, Monty, last July.

But Mail Sport revealed in January that her hopes of earning a place in Paris were fading as she was yet to even earn the required qualifying points.

The last chance for Kenny, who has not yet returned to team training, to gain the points she needs is at next month's Track Nations Cup in Milton, Canada.

However, even if Britain's most successful female Olympian was to ride at that event, she would have her work cut out to earn selection for Paris in a squad that won the world team pursuit title in her absence last year.
