Xavier was dominated in the paint - a clear sign that they were missing players Zach Freemantle and Jerome Hunter, who’ve been injured all year long. They got outscored on the interior 54-24 in their first ever quarterfinal defeat in this tournament. Next, they’ll play the winner of the second afternoon game between Seton Hall and St. John’s.
