Mason Mount is set to be included in Manchester United's squad to face Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday, according to a report.

Mail Sport reported this week that the midfielder had returned to training having not played for four months, and he is expected to make his long-awaited return at Old Trafford this weekend, according to The Athletic.

Mount, who cost United £60million in the summer when he joined from Chelsea, made the last of his 12 appearances against Luton in November before he was injured in training.

He had suffered several setbacks in his recovery but is now set to be fit for the final leg of the season after rejoining the rest of his team-mates at Carrington.

United confirmed the news on the club's official website saying that Mount has worked hard to regain fitness and 'remained upbeat and positive throughout his rehabilitation'.
