Troubled MLB star Wander Franco has shared a video of himself playing baseball for the first time since being accused of having an improper relationship with a 14-year-old girl and paying her mother thousands of dollars for her consent back in his native country - the Dominican Republic.
The 23-year-old shortstop, who is still under contract with the Tampa Bay Rays just eight days before Opening Day amid his ongoing legal issues back home, uploaded a video of himself catching a baseball at a random field on Instagram, Wednesday.
It remains unclear where exactly Franco is at this time, though it's fair to assume that he is still in the Dominican Republic due to a selfie of himself taken on a dirt road in a tropical jungle on his Instagram Story.
Franco has previously been warned by his legal advisors to not come back to the US for the start of the 2024-25 MLB season, as has risks a high chance of being detained by authorities due to occurring legal proceedings in his homeland.
As expected, the 2023 All-Star didn't show up for the first day of Rays' spring training last month. As a matter of fact, Tampa Bay played two pre-season games against the Boston Red Sox without Franco in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic's capital, earlier this month.
