Liverpool's assistant manager Pep Ljinders could be handed a major head coach position this summer with Ajax considering him for the role, according to reports.
Lijnders is set to depart Anfield alongside Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season as the Reds prepare for a staffing overhaul and is being targeted by the Dutch giants who are looking for another permanent manager.
John van’t Schip is currently fulfilling the role on an interim basis and has helped turnaround a dreadful first half of the season that saw Ajax flirt with the relegation places before recovering.
The club's former midfielder will move into a 'function with technical management' position in July with a new head coach being brought in.
A new permanent appointment will be made at the end of the season and Ajax believe the Liverpool assistant could be the person to lead them to renewed glories, as reported by The Times.
