A snooker world champion almost missed his most recent final after having his car towed.

2023 world champion Luca Brecel added to his rapidly-growing list of titles on Sunday as he teamed with Reanne Evans to beat Mark Selby and Rebecca Kenna in the final of the World Mixed Doubles tournament.

He was almost forced to forfeit the game, however, after being sent on a mad dash to retrieve his car prior to the game in Manchester.

Speaking to ITV Sport after his latest win, Brecel detailed how an error had left him nervous of making the game, but seemed content that all had been sorted out and he managed to get to the arena in time.

He and Evans beat their opponents 4-2 at Manchester Central.
