Dallas mayor Eric Johnson has made a push for the Kansas City Chiefs to move to his city after a ballot measure to approve public funding for renovations to Arrowhead Stadium was rejected this week.

Kansas City's sports teams - the Chiefs and MLB's Royals - were dealt a blow Tuesday when residents of Jackson County shot down a sales tax measure that would have helped fund major renovations to Arrowhead Stadium and a new downtown ballpark.

The rejection threw the future of the teams into doubt with it unclear if Arrowhead Stadium will remain the home of Chiefs Kingdom beyond 2031.

But Dallas mayor Johnson appeared to offer a solution as he offered up his city as a landing spot, despite the Cowboys already residing there.

'Dallas was named the top sports city in the United States because we play to win,' Johnson said in a statement to the Dallas Morning News.
