Club football is coming thick and fast on the back of the final international break of the season and we were no closer to finding out who will win the title following the midweek fixtures.

Liverpool left it late but continued their winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Sheffield United, while Arsenal and Manchester City recorded more routine victories in their bids to be crowned champions.

In the race for Europe, Chelsea left it late to beat Manchester United in what was one of the games of the season, with Cole Palmer bagging a brace deep into stoppage time to earn his team a 4-3 win.

Regarding the relegation battle, Nottingham Forest and Everton both picked up some much-needed results, though Luton continued to find it hard to pick up any points of their own.

But who tops Mail Sport's POWER RANKINGS on the back of another action-packed round of fixtures? Who had a quiet week, and who rose to the occasion?

10. Morgan Gibbs-White (new entry)

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White continues to grow in stature almost every game and he took centre stage here to help his team pick up a vital three points against Fulham.

The midfielder ran the show in a dominant opening half hour, forcing Marco Silva to make three first half changes, much to the dismay of the players taken off.

The 24-year-old has become the talisman for Nuno Espirito Santo as he looks to secure survival sooner rather than later, and cannot be too far away from a senior England call-up.

A goal and assist in what was a more attacking Forest side on Tuesday will do his chances and aspirations no harm.

9. William Saliba (non-mover)

In truth, it was a bit of a non-event for William Saliba and his fellow Arsenal defenders on Wednesday night as their side secured a 2-0 win over Luton.

A home clean sheet was one of the most secure bankers you will get all season, and the Frenchman marshalled the minor threat his side's visitors possessed well to help register his and Arsenal's 13th league clean sheet of the season - four more than any other side.

Saliba continues to be on of the dominant centre backs in the league this season, and his fitness will be vital to Arsenal's chances of their first title in 20 years, as we saw in the run-in last season.

8. Son Heung-min (down one)

It was a quiet night for Tottenham captain Son Heung-min on Wednesday. He would have hoped to have put in a stronger performance against one his side's rivals in a central position.

Though the South Korean has impressed through the middle of the Spurs attack, he may be better suited to playing out wide, which could happen when his side host Nottingham Forest this weekend, with Richarlison going back through the middle.

Chances arrived at a premium for Tottenham in general, meaning their No 9 for the game had one of his quieter matches, but he will be looking - and expecting - to bounce back against Forest.

7. Rodrigo Muniz (down five)

It's a potentially harsh drop for Rodrigo Muniz, who has been in some of the best form we have seen this season from any player in recent weeks.

Though he failed to help his side recover from the shock Forest imposed on them at the City Ground, the forward has still netted eight goals in his last nine games and is far and away Silva's first-choice striker right now.

The 22-year-old had five shots in the game, so remained heavily involved though they were all off target as he failed to test Palace No 2 Dean Henderson.

The forward will back himself to bounce back this weekend against a makeshift Newcastle defence back at Craven
