Friday night's Final Four clash between UConn and Iowa was the most-watched women's college basketball game of all time, as its peak of 17million viewers surpassed the viewership records set by Iowa-LSU mere days ago.
According to ESPN, which aired the game, UConn-Iowa notched an average of 14.3million viewers, which also represents the highest audience for any ESPN basketball game on record.
The game is also ESPN's second-best non-football telecast ever, it said, with only the US men's national team's match vs. Portgual in the 2014 World Cup (18.2million viewers) surpassing it.
