If LIV Golf is to get its first major winner at the Masters next week then you would think either Jon Rahm or Brooks Koepka would be most likely to slip on the Green Jacket.

After all, it was just 12 months ago that they went toe-to-toe in a fascinating duel on a nerve-shredding final day at Augusta.

Koepka had a two-shot lead going into that Sunday afternoon but could not match Rahm’s brilliance as the Spaniard took himself to golf’s promised land.

A week before golf’s elite descend on Augusta again for the first major of the season, Koepka and Rahm were grouped together on Saturday at LIV’s latest event in Miami.

There will certainly be no house music pumping away at the Masters like LIV, neither will there be stuntmen parachuting onto the course or a shotgun start. There’s also a strong chance there will be no Koepka come the weekend, either.

He is a man for the big occasion, though, and can never be ruled out. After that collapse at Augusta last year, he went on to win a third PGA Championship title just a month later.

In the last decade, Koepka has played in 35 majors. He’s won five, has seven top five finishes and came in the top 10 on 13 occasions. He loves the big stage.

Speaking before play began in Miami this week, Koepka insisted that his Masters preparation is already complete and he’s ‘not so focused on results’. That's a relief.

‘I've already done my prep, man. Just trying to figure out and make any last-second tweaks I can,' he said.

‘Usually March 1 is kind of my go for Augusta, and then I crank things up. This whole week is just to see what I've done the past two, three weeks, whatever, how many weeks we've had off and see where everything is at.
