Ronnie O'Sullivan has urged for a huge change to be made to the World Snooker Championship.

The 48-year-old will seek to become champion for a historic eighth time in his illustrious clear when the tournament gets underway next week.

The Crucible in Sheffield has been home to the sport's biggest event since 1977 and will continue to be for another three years at least when the current contract expires.

However, O'Sullivan believes it's time for the World Championship to be hosted elsewhere due to the small capacity despite it's history and tradition.

‘I don’t like the Crucible. I don’t think you can get in and out of it,’ O’Sullivan told The Sun. ‘I think definitely it’s a wise decision to take it away from Sheffield.
