Team GB have been tipped to bring home 66 medals from this summer’s Olympics – beating their tally from Tokyo.
With 100 days to go until the Games in Paris, sports data firm Gracenote have published their virtual medal table forecasting Great Britain will finish fourth, behind USA, China and hosts France.
However, they have predicted that Team GB will only collect 13 golds, way down on the 22 they won at Tokyo 2020, when they also finished fourth in the medal table.
If Gracenote’s forecast proves to be correct, it would be the fourth straight Olympics in which Team GB have landed 60 or more medals. After their post-war record of 65 at London 2012, they achieved their best overseas tally of 67 at Rio 2016, before claiming 64 in the delayed Tokyo Games three years ago.
As well as 13 golds at Paris 2024, Team GB are tipped to win 23 silvers and 30 bronzes. At Tokyo 2020, it was 22 golds, 20 silvers and 22 bronzes.
