Fernando Torres has been flooded with messages of support after announcing that his father, Jose, has died.
The former Liverpool striker shared the news on social media last night, in which he thanked friends and fans for sending messages of support.
In his post, the former striker wrote: 'I couldn't end this sad day without thanking everyone from the bottom of my heart on behalf of my family and myself for so many expressions of affection and respect towards the death of my father.
'Dad, I will always keep you present. I love you. R.I.P.'
In response to his post, former team-mates and friends within the footballing world left messages of support.
