Ilkay Gundogan and Ronald Araujo have made peace after the former Man City captain's comments that reportedly created a rift in the Blaugrana dressing room

Germany international Gundogan offered an honest and scathing assessment of his side's performance in their Champions League quarter-final second leg defeat by Paris Saint-Germain

The Catalan giants carried a goal advantage into the home leg, having won 3-2 in Paris, but fell to a 4-1 defeat after seeing an early red card, and crashed out 6-4 on aggregate.

Gundogan claimed after the game that he felt like Barcelona 'gave the game away in the most simple of manners' and stated Araujo deserved to be sent off.

The Uruguay defender then offered his own blunt response, claiming he has his own 'values' and prefers not to speak his opinion on Gundogan's words in public, but according to reports, the midfielder has now apologised to Araujo.

Reports in Spain claim that Araujo spoke with Gundogan, who apologised for his public statements, with the defender admitting: 'It’s all clarified with Ilkay Gundogan, I spoke to him and he apologised. It’s all good.'

After the match Gundogan claimed his side 'gave' PSG the win, before criticising Araujo for the rash challenge that conceded a free-kick and earned the defender a red card early in the first half.

Gundogan said: 'If he [Araujo] fouled him [Barcola], I guess it's a red card. I haven't seen the replay, I don't know. You guys probably know better than me.

'It's difficult to say. You know, in these kind of crucial moments you need to be sure to get the ball.

'If you don't [whether you're going to get the ball], and again I don't know if he touched the ball or not, you need to stay away.

'I would prefer to concede a goal there or give the striker 1v1.
