NBA reject Kevin Porter Jr. has been spotted plying his trade in Greece, roughly six months after the Oklahoma City Thunder waived him following his domestic assault charge.
The 23-year-old guard signed with Thessaloniki-based club PAOK for the remainder of the 2023-24 GBL season, which ends in mid-May, on April 2, and is reportedly earning just $10k, according to HotNewHipHop.
Porter, who last played for the Houston Rockets during the 2022-23 NBA season, was arrested and charged by the NYPD for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend and WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick in September, roughly a year after he signed a four-year, $82.5million contract extension with the Rockets.
After his alleged attack on Gondrezick, of the Chicago Sky, the Rockets barred Porter from having any interaction with his teammates as front office executives feared the player's scandal would cause a distraction just a few weeks before the team's 2023-24 season opener against the Orlando Magic on October 25.
Porter was eventually traded to the Thunder on October 17, but was immediately waived by the team.
