Football legend Francesco Totti was recently the toast of Bondi after visiting the iconic Sydney restaurant bearing his name - and he believes Australia should host a men's World Cup sooner rather than later.

Totti - who represented AS Roma for his entire senior career before retiring in 2017 - was joined by his glamorous girlfriend Noemi Bocchi at the country's most famous beach.

Australia's nemesis at the 2006 World Cup following his injury-time penalty in the round of 16 clash was seen gazing at the menu on Bondi Road before continuing his stroll around one of the nation's ritziest suburbs.

After successfully co-hosting the Women's World Cup with New Zealand last year, Totti is adamant a men's tournament would be a huge success down under.
