Ben Hornby has been ushered in as South Sydney's interim coach for the remainder of the NRL season - and many footy fans want to know, who exactly is he?
Hornby, 44, also has one of the best nicknames in the sport - 'Me So Hornby', a clever take-off from a scene in the famed 1980s drama movie Full Metal Jacket.
Dragons fans often proudly displayed the cheeky sign during Hornby's decorated playing career, especially at home games staged at Kogarah Oval in Sydney's south and WIN Stadium in Wollongong.
After growing on the NSW south coast, Hornby was graded by the St George Illawarra Dragons and made his NRL debut in 2000 against the Panthers.
Primarily playing in the halves or as a fullback, Hornby soon became a key figure for the Dragons alongside the likes of Mark Gasnier, Matt Cooper and Trent Barrett.
