The grandson of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has been invited for assessment for both England and GB Boxing.

But rather than strings, it is ropes for 18-year-old Leo Wood, who has won the prestigious England Boxing National Amateur Championships in Derby.

A member of Ropes and Glory Club in Chatham, Kent, Wood picked up the title for his under 57kg weight class in the competition.

He has also been informed that he has qualified to represent England in the GB Elite Three Nations in Scotland in June.

Having started boxing when he was 10, the teenager will now be aiming to follow his grandfather's footsteps and achieve celebrity status, but through a slightly different route.
