Mason Greenwood and his Getafe team-mates walked out with their mums to mark Mother's Day in Spain this weekend.

Greenwood walked out with his mum Melanie before the LaLiga clash against Athletic Club on Friday night.

The English forward was the last player to emerge from the tunnel, holding hands with Melanie, and later posed for a team photograph with all the mothers in the frame.

But the evening ended on a sour note with Greenwood missing a penalty in a 2-0 defeat at the Estadio Coliseum.

However, in the second half, both Yeray Alvarez and Aitor Paredes were sent off, leaving them to finish the game with nine men. 

A goal from Greenwood would have sparked a grandstand finish but Unai Simon's save proved vital.

Getafe are reportedly negotiating with Manchester United over a potential second loan move for Greenwood, but the Premier League giants would prefer selling him instead.

The forward joined the La Liga side on a season-long loan on Deadline Day last summer and has impressed on the pitch.

With 10 goals in 32 appearances, Greenwood also registered six assists for Getafe.

And now it has been reported that the Spanish side are keen to extend his stay for at least another season.

According to The Athletic, Getafe have opened talks with the Red Devils over the possibility of a new loan deal for Greenwood.
