Former Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admitted the German club would love to have signed Jude Bellingham when he left Borussia Dortmund last summer.
Tonight, Real Madrid are banking on him making them even sorrier they were unable to do so.
'I can only say that at Dortmund they were very happy when they could be sure that Bayern no longer had a chance to get him,' Rummenigge told Diario AS this week.
'He made the decision to go to Madrid very early on and they should be congratulated for signing him. He scores, assists, runs, fights, recovers. He does everything well.'
Bellingham and his friend and team-mate Vinicius Junior are the key reasons Real Madrid go into tonight's game full of confidence.
