Rob Gronkowski spiking a shot glass on stage at the Tom Brady roast brutally injured a girl sitting in the front row, claims comedian Andrew Schulz.

Brady was roasted by a number of high-profile figures as part of a live Netflix special on Sunday, with Gronkowski also the subject of various jokes before taking to the podium himself at Kia Forum.

At one stage of the evening, the two former New England teammates enjoyed a break from the roastings and knocked back a shot with ex-coach Bill Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft - before Gronk performed one of his signature spikes.

The 34-year-old - who famously used to do the same with a football in his NFL career - slammed the shot glass down on the floor and sent pieces of it flying in all directions.

Yet while it initially seemed like one of many hilarious moments on the night, Schulz says a member of the crowd was left with 'a piece of shot glass hanging out of her cheek' as a result of the stunt.
