The man set to spearhead Australia's bowling attack in the upcoming Ashes will head into the series in record-breaking form.
In an ominous sign for Trevor Bayliss' tourists, Mitchell Starc became the first man to take two hat-tricks in a single Sheffield Shield match as he helped New South Wales beat Western Australia by 171 runs on Tuesday.
Starc ended with four for 56 in the first innings after taking the final three wickets in as many balls before repeating the feat to become only the eighth bowler in first-class history to take twin hat-tricks in a single match.
