Eddie Jones has been preparing his side for the 'unique' challenge of playing Samoa, with England taking on the Pacific island nation at Twickenham in their final autumn international on Saturday.

The England head coach saluted the Pacific island Test rugby sides as he prepares to welcome a Samoan team desperately seeking financial support to HQ. The Samoa Rugby Union recently declared itself bankrupt, a statement World Rugby disputes, but the RFU will give the tourists a £75,000 goodwill payment for the upcoming Test.

Jones was busy drilling his side for duty at Pennyhill Park on Tuesday morning as he seeks to oversee an unbeaten trio of autumn Tests. On Monday he had spoken of his fondness for Pacific island rugby.

'Just look around the world at how many good Samoan players there are,' he said. 'It's quite freakish that Samoa and Tonga produce so many good players.

'Certainly, it's important to keep island rugby strong because they bring a uniqueness to the game as they've got these fantastic natural skills that, when it's galvanised together, produces this game that no-one else can play. So it's so important for island rugby… and I'm glad we're playing Samoa. It's going to help Samoan rugby.'
