England remain concerned over key spinner Moeen Ali after he had to get treatment for his cut finger during Friday's nets session.

Moeen did not bowl on Thursday due to the injury, but was able to turn his arm over ahead of the second Ashes Test in Adelaide which begins this weekend.

The all-rounder did not seem completely happy however, and got his troublesome finger checked by spin coach Saqlain Mushtaq.

Moeen does seem set to play however, after back-up spinner Mason Crane was left out of the 12-man squad for the upcoming day-night Test.

It was felt Crane may be called in for his Test debut if Moeen was unable to bowl to his full capability, however it was pace-man Craig Overton who was called up to the team instead.
