Dwight Gayle gave the Toon Army a shock lead, but a double from Eden Hazard either side of yet another header from Alvaro Morata was enough for the three points.

Victory leaves Chelsea in third, with Newcastle continuing their descent down the Premier League table after losing five of their last six games.

Rafa Benitez hasn’t had much luck as a visiting manager at Stamford Bridge. In 12 contests away to Chelsea, all of which came as manager of Liverpool, the Spaniard has managed victory just once, failing to score in nine of those games.
