A group of rugby-loving racehorse owners have pledged all prizemoney won by their new horse to the fund created by former Scotland international Doddie Weir for research into Motor Neurone Disease.
Behindthelines is trained by Grand National-winner Lucinda Russell and like her Aintree hero One For Arthur is by the sire Milan.
The six-year-old will run in the colours of a six-strong partnership registered as ‘London Scots For Doddie’.

Appropriately, given Weir played much of his club rugby for Melrose and lives in the Borders, Behindthelines is pencilled in to make his hurding debut at Kelso on January 14. It is hoped Weir will be present.
