Australia have appointed former opening batsman Justin Langer as their new head coach.

The 47-year-old, who played 105 Tests and eight one-day internationals for his country making his last Test appearance in 2007, has signed a four-year deal to take over from Darren Lehmann.

Lehmann stepped down from the role in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa in March, which also led to the suspension of skipper Steve Smith, vice-captain David Warner and
