Scotland avenged last year's nightmare first round exit with victory over USA as the PDC World Cup of Darts kicked off for its eighth year.
The tournament's top seeds, Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, were on top form in front of a lively crowd at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, with a 5-1 victory over Larry Butler and Darin Young.
Anderson and Wright demonstrated their rank with a 94.39 three-dart average, however were unsuccessful in finding a maximum in their curtain raiser.

This didn't seem to dampen their spirits on stage with Snakebite flippantly tormenting Anderson for missing a chance to win the match, much to the amusement of his fellow countryman.
Wales' Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton made tough work of their match with Thailand.
The Welsh were fortunate in the eighth leg, with two missed double 20 attempts from Thanawat Gaweenuntawong that would have taken the match to a deciding leg. Premier League flop Price then turned from the oche with two fist pumps after he took out double four at the first time of asking.
