sport news Marin Cilic beats Fernando Verdasco at Queen's

Top seed Marin Cilic cleared the first hurdle in his bid for a first Queen's title after dispatching Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-4.

The Croatian is bidding to go one better than last year, where he was runner-up to Feliciano Lopez at Queen's. He would go onto lose in the Wimbledon final to Roger Federer.

Once again, the Swiss veteran will head to SW19 as the favourite after returning to world No 1 and Cilic has already turned his attention as to how he would stop him should they meet on Centre Court.
