Google Maps will soon help you avoid a speeding ticket. 

The popular navigation app is rolling out new features that let users view the speed limits and speed traps in their area, according to Android Police. 

Some users in New York City, Los Angeles and Minnesota have spotted the features, after they were first being tested in Rio, Brazil and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Users who spotted the feature in the Google Maps app said a small speed limit sign had appeared in the corner of their screen while they were in navigation mode. 

The speed traps can be seen if the user zooms out to view their suggested route in the app. 

Google Maps will also give users audio cues when they're approaching a speed camera, Android Police noted.  

Few details are known about when or if these features will roll out to the broader public, however. 

Google has yet to confirm whether or not the test will lead to a wider rollout.

The speed limit feature has been available as a test for select users since last year.
