Soon, Spotify users will be able to hit the mute button on any artists they're tired of hearing.
The popular streaming app is currently testing a 'Don't play this artist' feature that would let users mute or block a musician, preventing them from showing up in the future.
As of now, the feature is only appearing for a select number of users, Thurrott reported.

The feature is expected to roll out to all users in a future update.
After an artist is blocked, they'll no longer appear in the user's library, or in user-created playlists, playlists curated by Spotify, charts, radios or anywhere else in the app.
It also disables users from manually playing a track by the artist, so if they click on a song, it won't play until they're unblocked.
A quick review of the feature shows that blocked artists can still be searched, however, likely so that users can unblock them if they change their mind.
The feature also doesn't prevent users from hearing tracks that the blocked artist is featured on.
