The next generation of iPhones will likely emphasize a slew of new camera features to entice current and future customers, according to one of the top Apple analysts.

Ming-Chi Kuo, who has correctly predicted Apple's past moves, told clients that the iPhone purveyor is likely exploring a number of new camera-centric hardware features for its three upcoming handsets.

As reported in 9to5Mac, those changes include upgrading front-facing cameras from seven to 12 megapixels as well as adopting a dual-camera setup in the future generation of the iPhone's more affordable XR model.

More notably, Kuo's recent predictions also seem to confirm a report that originated from Bloomberg in January that said Apple was planning to include a triple lens,  ultra-wide rear-facing camera system in each of its 5.8 inch and 6.5 inch models.

A set of three separate wide angle lenses would mirror those used in the Samsung Galaxy S10, which allow the phone to capture a much wider area in its camera compared to other smartphones.

According to Kuo, Apple's version may go a little bit farther than the Galaxy, offering users 123-degree field-of-view compared to Samsung's 77-degree view.

The lens would likely be manufactured by Sony, he added.
