Apple unveils all-new $6,000 Mac Pro alongside the $5,000 Pro Display XDR that ...

Apple has finally given the Mac Pro a much-needed face-lift after six years.

At the tech giant's Worldwide Developer Conference on Monday, Apple revealed an all-new desktop computer for professionals, which starts at $6,000 and packs a raft of upgrades that make it faster and more powerful than before.

The Mac Pro looks nothing like its 2013 predecessor, with Apple ditching the trash can design for a new model that features the 'cheese grater' style reminiscent of the 2010 version.

For photo editors and movie makers willing to shell out extra cash, Apple also unveiled the $5,000 Mac Pro Display XDR.

The 32-inch, 6K monitor boasts super high-quality specs, including an impressive 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and an ultra-wide viewing experience, as well as the ability to rotate the screen sideways into 'portrait mode,' which makes tasks like writing code or editing photos even easier.

Both the new Mac Pro and Mac Pro Display XDR will be available this fall.

'We have the strongest Mac lineup we've ever had,' Apple CEO Tim Cook said on stage at WWDC.

'But there is one more spot in our lineup.'

The new Mac Pro isn't designed for everyday users, instead it's meant to meet the needs of advanced professionals in creative industries that demand more from their machine.

The stainless steel casing features a handle on top that allows for greater portability, as well as optional wheels that can be attached to the bottom.

Consumers can get up to a 28-core Intel Xeon processor in the new Mac Pro, up to 1.5 terabytes of memory and up to 300 watts of power.

It features eight PCIe expansion slots and a Radeon Pro Vega II, which Apple is calling the 'world's most powerful graphics card.'

'For pros animating 3D film assets, compositing 8K scenes and building complex 3D environments, graphics performance is more important than ever,' Apple said in a statement.

'That is why Mac Pro features the world’s most powerful graphics card and up to 56 teraflops of graphics performance in a single system.'

The Mac Pro also comes with a totally new Apple Afterburner card, which enables faster video editing, allowing users to run three simultaneous 8K video streams at the same time, which amounts to a whopping 100 million pixels.

John Ternus, Vice President, Mac and iPad Hardware Engineering at Apple, said the new Mac Pro is designed with 'utility and function' in mind, while packing 'real world performance where it matters most.'

Even with all its souped up specs, Ternus said the device is still just 'as quiet as a Mac Pro.'

To go with the all-new Mac Pro, Apple also launched the Mac Pro Display XDR.

It marks the first new standalone display from Apple, which had been selling LG displays in recent years.

The $5,000 32-inch display is 40 percent larger than the iMac 5K display and, if users are willing to spend another $1,000 on the all-new Pro Stand, it can rotate sideways to turn into Portrait Mode.

Apple said the new display is meant to provide the same quality as comparable, high-end reference monitors that can pack a price tag of an upwards of $43,000.

The Mac Pro Display XDR features the 'largest retina display ever,' according to the firm.
