Google Calendar goes DOWN: Site hit with outage for users around the world

Google Calendar was hit by a global outage for several hours on Tuesday.

The popular scheduling service started having issues around 10:00 a.m. (ET), preventing many in the US, UK, Europe and Japan from accessing the site.

Instead of the site loading, users were often hit with an 'Error 404' message.

Google was able to resolve the service issues by about 1:30 p.m. (ET).

A notice published to Google's G Suite Status Dashboard showed the issue had been resolved.

'The problem with Google Calendar should be resolved,' the notice stated.

'We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.'

Previously, Google said it was investigating the source of the outage.

'We're investigating reports of an issue with Google Calendar,' the message read.

'We will provide more information shortly. The affected users are unable to access Google Calendar.'

In response to a request for comment, Google directed Dailymail.com to the company's G Suite dashboard.

None of Google's other services, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Hangouts and others, appear to be affected by the Google Calendar outage.
