Dating app Hinge has today announced it will be giving out £100 to couples who match on the site, go on an in-person date next week and want a second date.

A total of £15,000 will be dished out by the company to encourage singletons to go on real-life dates now restrictions have eased and pubs and restaurants are open.

Hinge has dubbed the payment a 'second date stipend' and say there are no restrictions on what it can be used on.

To ensure both people on the date have equal control, Hinge will give £50 to each of the aspiring lovers. 

Hinge is one of the most popular dating apps in Britain, combining the swiping of rival apps like Tinder with a more personal approach, asking in-depth questions.
