Most people have felt the pain of making a phone call while walking down a busy street.

Apple has fixed the problem with a feature that tunes out surrounding noise so the recipient hears only your voice during a phone call.

During your call, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.

Select Mic Mode at the top right and push Voice Isolation, which prioritizes your voice and blocks ambient noises.

Mic Mode was released with Apple's iOS 15 in 2021 but is only accessible with iPhone XR, iPhone XS models and later iPhones with iOS 16.4 or later.

The feature is available for FaceTime, which also offers Wide Spectrum that enhances the noises around you without affecting your voice, but this diminishes the quality and clarity of agents.

Voice Isolation is also available for iPads
