A man was fatally stabbed with a machete at least 15 times by an alleged drug user getting high on laughing gas during a party celebrating his granddaughter’s first birthday in a Michigan park.
The incident took place in Utica on Saturday afternoon, according to Shelby Township Police.
At approximately 2:50pm, the grandfather noticed a man doing drugs on a nearby park bench in full view of several young children, according to WXYZ-TV.
He approached the man on the bench and asked him to stop.
According to witnesses, the man appeared to have ‘whippets’ - or cans of nitrous oxide that are stored in empty whip cream containers.
Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a known hallucinogen.
The grandfather asked the man to take the drugs out of the area because young children were watching.
