Cabinet 'demands May gives a timetable for quitting after Brexit'

Cabinet ministers have demanded the Prime Minister sets a timetable for quitting No 10, it was claimed today.

Views among ministers vary as to whether Theresa May should go straight after Brexit in March or stay on to oversee the transition.

But there is a growing review that not only can she not fight the next general election, she should set out when she will resign.

After the disastrous snap election, Mrs May insisted to her party she would only stay on as long as she was wanted. 

The reports were dismissed as a 'load of nonsense' today by David Lidington, Mrs May's defacto deputy, who insisted the Cabinet focused on the task at hand.

One Cabinet source told The Daily Telegraph: 'There are two schools of thought in the Cabinet.

'One is that she will be forced out straight after we leave the EU
