A King Lear co-actor said Geoffrey Rush, 67, ‘squeezed the breast’ of a young female actress during a dress rehearsal, the court heard.
Mark Leonard Winter, 35, told the Federal Court on Thursday he saw Rush cup Eryn Jean Norvill’s breast for about five seconds during her character’s death scene.
Winter, who played Edgar in King Lear, told the court Rush’s cupping of the actress’s breast was something he ‘hadn't seen before on stage.’
The touch was long enough for Winter to have 'a series of thoughts,' he said.
Winter told the court he had a vague recollection of Rush doing a Three Stooge-like bit over Norvill and making a 'jokey gesture [...] a boob-squeezing gesture' during rehearsal.
