Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci just walked the red carpet at tonight's Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills.

Scaramucci took to Twitter earlier today and https://twitter.com/Scaramucci/status/1082041020982820864 to the show. (It's his birthday today. He turned 55.)

"I am younger than Trump," he said in the video.

At one point during the video, Scaramucci and his wife, Deidre Ball, thought they spotted protesters at the awards show.

"Yeah, no we're not getting any protesters tonight. We're pretty much OK in Hollywood because you're such a lefty, baby. Hollywood loves Mrs. Mooch," he told his wife.

37 min ago Three black films are nominated for top drama

From CNN's Lisa Respers France

This year's Golden Golden Globe nominations showcase strong work by black directors this past year.

Progress toward inclusion has been notoriously slow in Hollywood, but 2018 saw some forward momentum.

Ryan Coogler, Spike Lee and Barry Jenkins each directed movies nominated for top drama. The nominations helped to resurface the #GoldenGlobesSoBlack  hashtag on social media, which originally launched in 2017.

Here's what you need to know about their films:

Coogler's "Black Panther" tells the story of superhero T'Challa/Black Panther, a new king who must save his homeland of Wakanda after the death of his father. With its primarily black cast, Marvel's "Black Panther" drew audiences in droves, made almost $1.4 billion in box office receipts and became a cultural phenomenon. Lee's "BlacKkKlansman" is based on the true story and book by Ron Stallworth, a black officer in the Colorado Springs, Colorado, police department who successfully infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan in the '70s. Lee was also nominated for best director for "BlacKkKlansman," along with another director of color, Alfonso Cuarón of Mexico, for "Roma." Jenkins' "If Beale Street Could Talk," based on James Baldwin's novel of the same name, is the romantic tale of a woman trying to prove her fiancé innocent of a crime while awaiting the birth of their first child. The film marks a return to the awards circuit by Jenkins, following his Oscar-winning "Moonlight."

Folks may not be dressing in black this year, but the Time's Up movement is still on plenty of people's minds at the Golden Globes.

Last year, black was the fashion choice in a show of solidarity for the mission of the anti-sexual harassment group that formed after allegations against former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein came to light in a story by The New York Times.

This year, nominee and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" star Rachel Brosnahan was one of the few who gave a fashion nod with a Time's Up bracelet as an accessory to her yellow gown.

Actress and activist Alyssa Milano has been at the forefront of the movement.

On Sunday, she told CNN that the past year, with its increased focus on the treatment of women, has been an important one for the industry.

"Women are unstoppable if we come together and commit to standing in solidarity for effecting change," Milano said. "We really have to stand up for taking care of women and marginal people."

The work being done is reflected in the art being created, Milano said, with more diverse projects coming out of Hollywood.

"We don't want stories from the same perspective," she said. "Enough already."

Constance Wu's nomination for best performance by an actress in "Crazy Rich Asians" ends a streak that has lasted almost half a century.

The last person of Asian descent nominated in Wu's category was Yvonne Elliman, who in 1974 earned a nod for her role in "Jesus Christ Superstar," according to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which provided to CNN a comprehensive list following a request.

Only two other women of Asian descent were nominated in the category before that:

Miyoshi Umeki, who was nominated for 1961's "Flower Drum Song." Umeki went on to win an Oscar and remains the only Asian woman to win an Academy Award in an acting category. Machiko Kyo for "The Teahouse of the August Moon."

59 min ago Michelle Yeoh hits the red carpet with "that" ring

There's been tons of excitement surrounding "Crazy Rich Asians," and cast member Michelle Yeoh appeared on the Golden Globes red carpet wearing the emerald ring from the movie.

About that ring: No spoilers from us if you haven't seen it yet, but the ring is a major plot point and it turns out that it actually belongs to Yeoh in real life.

The rom-com, about a young Asian woman who discovers her boyfriend's family is wealthy and way crazier than she expected, has been a long time coming, according to Kevin Kwan, who wrote the best-selling novel on which the film is based.

It marks the first time in 25 years that a major studio film has featured an almost all Asian cast.

"I'm just so happy it's been received with so much joy and success," Kwan told CNN. "And people are demanding more."

It sounds like Yeoh, who played matriarch Eleanor Sung, is ready to give fans just that.

"It was so amazing to be a part of it," she said. "I can't wait for No. 2 and 3 and 4 and 5."

Are you listening, Hollywood?!

Charlize Theron gave a glimpse of her posh preparations ahead of tonight's awards show, and they included a tin of caviar and Dior heels.

1 hr 48 min ago Holly Taylor on how "The Americans" is "eerily relevant"

Her show is nominated for best drama this year and Holly Taylor understands why fans are intrigued with "The Americans," given the current political climate.

"I think that sometimes it's eerily relevant," Taylor told CNN on the red carpet for the 76th Golden Globe Awards.

The 21-year-old actress plays Paige Jennings, a young woman whose parents seem to be living the American dream but are actually Russian spies.

Taylor said of course no one could plan to have a show about the Cold War at the same time there is heightened talk about current US-Russia ties, but she thinks the audience has drawn their own parallels.

The series has ended, but Taylor talked about what she took away from her time with real life couple Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell, who played her parents.

"I've just learned so much about acting and being kind and a good person," Taylor said.
