Jake and Chloe Ford, both aged 23 months, were found seriously injured at their home near Margate, Kent in the early hours of December 27 and were later pronounced dead. Their mother Samantha Ford, 37, has been charged with murder and is due to come before a court later this year. The children's father, Steven Ford, today released heartbreaking tributes to them both, as well as a poem in their memory. He said Jake was 'everything he ever wanted in a son' To his son, Mr Ford wrote: 'Jakey, you were everything I ever wanted in a son, I looked at you and saw me. Your smile, your laugh and your beautiful eyes. You were kind, caring and always ready for daddy cuddles. 'Every day with you was a great day and the memories we shared will live on in me. I promise to make you proud. I love you my son.' He wrote to her: 'I couldn't have been more proud to be your daddy. Every day we would sing to each other and when we did I fell in love with you a little bit more. 'You were perfect to me, you were beautiful and everything I ever dreamed a daughter would be. I love you baby girl, daddy wants kisses x' Samantha Ford allegedly crashed the family's Ford Galaxy into the back of a lorry in December. Emergency services pulled from the wreckage of a crash on a dual carriageway at 2.50am. Officers who drove to her home on a new-build estate in Westwood near Margate found two dying children. The youngsters were taken to hospital around 3.35am where doctors battled to save their lives, but both were declared dead shortly after arriving. Neighbours said the mother had only just moved into the £215,000 property, which was privately rented through a local letting agent. She was later charged with murder and appeared before Maidstone Crown Court last month. She has not yet entered any pleas to the charges.
