Forecasters predict Britain’s warmest-ever February 14th with temperatures ...

Britain is set to bask in glorious sunshine this Valentine's Day as temperatures continue to push closer to the 60°F mark in the UK.

Forecasters have said that some parts of the UK could reach up to 59°F as loved up Brits prepare for the most romantic day of the year. Temperatures have become a lot more mild this week after cold snaps across the UK left many Brits de-icing their cars and wrapping up warm before braving the great outdoors.

From this evening temperatures will start to climb, becoming milder just in time for Valentine's Day. Tonight we should see some rainfall over Scotland, as well as some small parts of fog across the south of the country.

Into Wednesday we will see sunny skies across much of southern England, with the top temperature hitting  55.4°F (13°C). Away from the south the rest of the country will be a bit cloudier with some mild rain in Scotland.

Speaking to the MailOnline, Met Office forecaster Becky Mitchell said that Valentines Day should be a nice day for those hoping to get outside and soak up the sunshine.
