A glamorous female prison officer has been sacked after an alleged relationship with a male inmate, who had her photos of her bikini modelling shoots up on his cell wall.

Tara Brooks, 33, was dismissed from her role at Parklea Correction Centre in Sydney this week after prison management became aware of her 'inappropriate relationship' with a 41-year-old male inmate.

Daily Mail Australia understands management at Parklea Prison began investigating Ms Brooks this week after tracing a Valentine's Day card she had sent to the inmate back to her.

Ms Brooks was charged by police with engaging in a relationship with an inmate and causing a safety risk to a correctional centre. She is the first person to be charged under the laws which were introduced last November (Pictured is Parklea Correction Centre)

A part-time model and former 'Olympic level gymnast', Ms Brooks was also charged by police with engaging in a relationship with an inmate and causing a safety risk to a correctional centre.

Ms Brooks had been working at the minimum security prison for close to two years.
